Tonight on Disney Channel’s This Is Who I Am series, Zendaya will bring us to her former middle school Oakland School for the Arts! Zendaya grew up in Oakland, and wanted to bring us back with her to visit her middle school to help us understand where she came from.
“I wanted to go home to Oakland to film my THIS IS WHO I AM segment because I believe kids need to know that no matter where you’re from as long as you work hard on your dreams, they can come true,” Zendaya told us. “It was important for me to go back to my old middle school (Oakland School for the Arts) because it’s a place that really nurtures dreams and helps kids have an outlet to express themselves.”
Wow! Zendaya is totally right – it’s important to believe in and follow your dreams no matter where you’re from and no matter who you are!
